Paul Scholes may not be recognized as an example for fair play (with more than 120 yellow cards and 10 red cards), but is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders of his generation.

Educated at the Manchester United training center, Scholes played more than 700 games with the club winning eleven Premier League titles (1995–96, 1996–97, 1998–99, 1999–2000, 2000–01, 2002–03, 2006–07, 2007–08, 2008–09, 2010–11 and 2012–13), three FA Cups (1995–96, 1998–99 and 2003–04) and two Champions Leagues (1998–99 and 2007–08). He was part of the team who realized a perfect season in 1998-99 winning three major titles.

In April 2003, The Premier League named him as a member of the Domestic and Overall Teams of the Decade (1992-2002).

In 66 games Scholes never won any honours with the England national team.

Paul Scholes is one of few players to have won the Premier League in three different decades.
