Educated all his childhood at the Masia, Iniesta started his career as a defensive midfielder but his agility combined with a good control of the ball allowed him to evolve into an attacking midfielder.

It is his versatility, creativity and intelligence which forms the basis for his reputation.

With Barcelona, Iniesta was runner-up to Lionel Messi in the 2010 Ballon d’Or and achieved third place in 2012. To date, his trophies include three Champions Leagues (2006, 2009 and 2011), six Spanish championships (2005, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2013), two UEFA Super Cups and two FIFA Club World Cups.

His versatility is also a key element of the Spanish national team game with whom he won Euro 2008, playing every game.

Iniesta scored the winning goal in the final of the 2010 World Cup against Netherlands (Man of the match).

At the Euro 2012, which Spain also won, Iniesta was selected Best Player of the Tournament.
